Expectations and code of conduct

What players can expect ?

1. Regular training/coaching sessions.
2. Coaching sessions to be prepared according to the teams needs.
3. Individual feedback regarding performance
4. Forward planning of fixtures and other activities or events.
5. The support of the Highfield United committee.

What is expected of Players ?

1.        Commitment to training.
2.        Communication with coaches about availability for training or matches.
3.        Willingness to learn and develop as a player in the team.
4.        To be responsible for ones own fitness.
5.        To pay subscriptions.
6.        To respect the code of conduct.
7.        To discuss any concerns with their parents, coaches or club welfare officer openly.

Code of conduct.

1.        Be personally committed and prepared for training and fixtures
2.        Be ‘Sporting’ before, during and after training and fixtures.
3.        Players abusing the referees, officials of the game or opposing teams or other disciplinary or misconduct matters may result in a
one match suspension.  This will be confirmed in writing by the team manager who will also consult with the player’s parents/guardian.
Further incidents may result in expulsion from the club.  This will be confirmed, in writing by the club committee.
4.        Any incidents of racism, by anyone, must be reported to the manager or coaches immediately.

Racism

Racism is a form of abuse that is not tolerable at any level; in youth football everyone has a responsibility to ensure that it does not occur.

Racism means abuse to an individual or group of individuals that is in relation their ethnic or cultural background or an (assumed)
perceived background.  Racism is not only an issue of colour but can also include reference to white groups such as Irish, Travellers,
Jewish etc.

Any incidents must be referred immediately to the team manager who will take the following course of action.

1. Contact (Opposing) team manager and explain the situation.
2. Ensure that the incident is dealt with and a letter of apology is given to the person (s)
3. If point (2) is not dealt with, a formal approach to the league (EKYL) will be made.


Expectations of parents and/or other supporters

1.        To support the code of conduct
2.        Not to get involved in criticism of referees, linesman or anyone associated with the opposing team.
3.        To support the team by helping, when possible at both home and away fixtures. (Practical help will include driving, erecting nets,
running the lines etc.)
Other help will include positive comments in support of players of both teams.
