HIGHFIELD UNITED UNDER 9’s 2011/12

ADYFL UNDER 9 LEAGUE MATCH 24 SEPT 2011
HIGHFIELD UNITED 4 HEADCORN 1 ( HT 1 - 0 )
HIGHFIELD SCORERS : ALFIE ( 4 )
HIGHFIELD MAN OF THE MATCH : ALFIE.
A beautiful sun kissed autumn morning was the perfect setting for playing football. Highfield, buoyant from their fabulous draw from the previous week
were in a rampant mood. They sensed that the grasshopper draw achieved the previous week, was a massive step forward, and were looking to build on
that promising performance. Both sides looked evenly matched and the opening goal could have gone to either team, but step forward Alfie Harris, he
was going to have one of those days. Playing upfront as the lone striker can be a thankless task but Alfie has already developed the knack of being the
sole target man and was at his sharpest to put Highfield ahead in the first half with an unstoppable drive. The teams seemed evenly matched but Alfie was
the difference today, adding three sparkling goals in the second half. Headcorn did pull one back at 2-0 but this was Alfies day and every goal was a gem
which will live with all of us who witnessed them, for many a day. There was some great team play involved in creating two of the goals for Alfie as the
boys cottoned on to the fact that he was on fire , so they did the simple thing and just kept feeding him the ball. All in all a splendid game played out by
two sides whose conduct was exemplary and its doubtful that Headcorn will always come across such cynical finishing as they encounted today, so
hopefully a win for them is just around the corner. Well played Ryan, Ben, Max, Daniel, Ellis, Jack, Conner and Alfie. A special result and a wonderful
display. Our first ever victory and although the scoreline bearly does justice to the effort Headcorn put in, we will take that as another step forward on our
new journey.

ADYFL RESULT AND REPORT Under 9s
MERSHAM HURRICANES 2 HIGHFIELD UTD 2 ( ht 1-1)
HIGHFIELD SCORERS : DANIEL JAMES 1 , JACK BENNETT 1
HIGHFIELD MAN OF THE MATCH : JACK BENNETT
Another good performance from the Highfield boys as they dug out a draw from a difficult fixture. Twice coming from behind with
goals from Daniel and Jack to secure the point.
Well done to everyone again.
ADYFL UNDER 9 FIXTURE 15/10/11
RESULT : HIGHFIELD 2 SMEETH & BRABOURNE 4
HIGHFILD SCORERS : ALFIE HARRIS & BEN ASLETT
HIGHFIELD MAN OF THE MATCH : BEN ASLETT.
REPORT :
Not a great game from a Highfield perspective as basic errors led to defeat.
The lads battled hard and did actually find themselves in front early in the second half but the lack of concentration, which had been so evident in training
on thursday, reared its head again and we were punished accordingly. Everyone tried hard but in the end it just wasnt enough.
Ben was awarded with man of the match this week for a never say die attitude.
ADYFL UNDER 9 FIXTURE 5/11/11
RESULT : PARK FARM RANGERS 3 HIGHFIELD 2
HIGHFILD SCORERS : DANIEL (2)
HIGHFIELD MAN OF THE MATCH : SYDNEY
REPORT :
Another spirited effort from the Highfield boys who battled back hard from being 3 down to almost claw their way back into it but unfortunately two goals
from Daniel were not quite enough.
A good effort from Sydney in his first game was rewarded with the motm accolade.
Keep it going lads.
ADYFL UNDER 9 FIXTURE 12/11/11
RESULT : HIGHFIELD 2 PILGRIMS 2
HIGHFILD SCORERS : DANIEL & ALFIE
HIGHFIELD MAN OF THE MATCH : RYAN
REPORT :
Another gritty performance from Highfield who took a point of the previously unbeaten Pilgrims with goals from Alfie and yet another wonderstrike from
Daniel. Ryan was given the MOTM award for a splendid effort in goal.
Well done to you all.
ADYFL UNDER 9 CUP FIXTURE 19/11/11
RESULT : HIGHFIELD 0 PILGRIMS 2
HIGHFIELD MAN OF THE MATCH : MAX
REPORT :
A tough game for the Highfield boys who were put out of the cup by Pilgrims who played much better than they had the previous week and were the
deserved winners.
As hard as we tried, we could never get into the game.
At least everyone tried hard and I can ask no more.
